Tier 1 are accredited with HM Government IA Standard No. 5, the UK Government approved data security standard. Through Tier 1's Government Security List accreditation, Tier 1 is listed as an approved organisation that works to CESG Infosec 5 standard data erasure.
We can guarantee that all data is destroyed within current CESG Guidelines (Mandatory Requirement 45 on Secure Disposal) state that, “Departments and Agencies must ensure that all media used for storing or processing protectively marked or otherwise sensitive information must be disposed of or sanitised in accordance with HMG IA Standard No. 5 – Secure Sanitisation of Protectively Marked Material or Sensitive Information.”
Tier 1’s HMG IA Standard No. 5 and ISO 9001:2000 accredited processes are regularly reviewed to ensure that these processes adhere to the strict standards expected of organisations that work within these standards.
In addition to securely erasing data using Blancco Data Cleaner v4.9HMG, (Blancco level 3 overwriting also qualifies for CESG Higher Level Overwriting, as defined in detail in IAS5), Tier 1 can also ensure the physical destruction of data and data bearing assets. We have relevant CESG accreditation, meaning our facilities for the physical destruction of data bearing assets follow an ISO 9000 accredited process, use approved destruction equipment and is carried out by appropriately security cleared staff.
Tier 1 also has degaussing products that are now classed as CESG Lower Level standard permanently on site. For CESG Higher Level degaussing requirements, Tier 1 is able to hire equipment on a project basis.
